AIA BLOG
To assist applicants in filing patent applications under the AIA, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published new and updated forms for use with applications having an actual filing date under 35 U.S.C. 111(a), or an international filing date under 35 U.S.C. 371, on or after September 16, 2012, and reiterated important notices and reminders regarding the use of forms.
The new or modified form numbers begin with the PTO/AIA prefix, while the numbers for unchanged forms retain the PTO/SB prefix. The table below includes all AIA forms provided by the USPTO. Among the new or modified forms are applicant declarations, an application data sheet, power of attorney, and reissue forms. Applicants should consider the instructions provided for several of the new or modified forms, as noted in the table.
